Seth Green backed up his NFT, after paying an estimated $300,000

In one of the funniest crypto stories of the year that have so far, recently reported that Seth Green, known for his roles in Family Guy and Mass Effect, had his ape NFT stolen. Besides that, he was planning a show based on the NFT, which he was unable to do but the blockchain confirms he had ownership of the JPG. And yet, somehow it got even funnier.

The GOLDEN TEAM OF THE DAY (TIME), TWO OF THE GAMER ADVICE.

For a cheap price, Green did not just count his losses instead of walking away. The voice actor said $300,000 in return to his wallet, reconfirming his NFT-based show.

We all have to believe that Blockchain Games are so obnoxiously bad.

Green confirmed the news to Buzzfeed, saying that his ape is “back home”. This comes after Green apparently got in contact with a new owner of the ape, who apparently bought it from the original thief.

Their account is pretty inactive, having only made two tweets in over one year. You’d expect to be sitting on Green’s prized monkey, certainly not the same person you would like to be.

The blockchain records show that Green forked over 165 ETH, which is a little under $300,000. DarkWing, which is worth around 200, is now taking it for their troubles and giving them a reputation as a place in the NFT world’s fame.

Interestingly, Green threatened to sue DarkWing if they didn’t return the monkey. However, since crypto isn’t regulated by a central authority (literally by design, so is the whole point of the puzzle), it’s possible he was cautioned against this. In fact, there’s a $175 million lawsuit slated for 2015, but is it still unknown if that bears fruit?

In any case Bored Ape #8398 is back home, and Green is still in the midst of an open-earth project. His NFT show, White Horse Tavern, is likely still in production.
