The 2017 French Open champion, Jelena Ostapenko, will open her 2024 clay-court season on Tuesday. The Latvian will face Linda Noskova at the 2024 WTA Stuttgart tennis tournament in an upcoming match. This will be a first-round match in the draw, a tournament that is also known as the 2024 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Ostapenko is priced at -125 (bet365) on the moneyline while Noskova is coming in as just a mild underdog in the match at +100. My Ostapenko vs Noskova prediction is that the former player will win this match.

Jelena Ostapenko vs Linda Noskova Head-to-Head Series
The Ostapenko vs Noskova h2h is 2-0 in favor of the former player. However, one of their matches was a walkover win for Ostapenko. In the other match, she beat Noskova in Birmingham 2-1 last season, which would have been a grass-court tournament. Ostapenko comes into the match ranked 10th in the world. Meanwhile, Noskova is the World No. 31. Both players have highlights from this season thus far.

Jelena Ostapenko’s Recent Matches and Results
Ostapenko played exhibition matches on clay last week at the Billie Jean King Cup. She went just 4-5 in sets and that was against pretty light competition. You have to wonder if she is going to hit the ground running this season on clay or if she will require a warm-up.
So far this season, she does have two titles on tour. She won Adelaide early in the campaign and then won Linz a little later. Last month in Miami and Indian Wells, she won just one match in the two matches combined.
As a former French Open champion, Ostapenko will always have some explosive potential in any clay-court draw. But last season, the only clay-court draw that she did well in was in Rome where she made the semifinals. In the other three events she entered, she went 3-3 combined.
Linda Noskova’s Recent Matches and Results
Noskova was last active in Miami, where she fell in the round of 32 to Iga Swiatek. Noskova seemed to be at her very best early in the season when she made the Brisbane semifinals and the Australian Open quarterfinals. Since then, her results have been fair but she has not had a deep run in an event. Last year on clay, Noskova’s best results came in 125-level events. Even in those events, she only made the quarterfinals.
Ostapenko vs Noskova Prediction: Ostapenko to win
At first glance, this match looked like a dunk to take Ostapenko at -125 (bet365). I will be sticking with that despite some concerns over the line scores from the Billie Jean King Cup. Chances are Ostapenko was a bit undriven in the matches due to the exhibition status. I’m expecting the nine sets of clay-court tennis she played to give her a big edge in the match against Noskova. The Czech player is cold on the surface but didn’t play that well last season anyway. Noskova is hard to take at just EVEN odds.
Noskova vs Ostapenko prediction: Draw at the 2024 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
The winner of this match will face either Angelique Kerber or Emma Raducanu. Ostapenko is the No. 8 seed in the tournament. She is a player to watch and not just because of her aptitude on clay. She is 4-0 against Iga Swiatek and the two players share a draw to the semifinals. Swiatek fans will be keen to see Ostapenko go out of the draw.
