In 2021, the organisation secured a partnership with the decentralised finance suite Yieldly, the company behind Yesports. The partnership saw Talon Esports create educational content around Yieldly’s ecosystem.
To celebrate the partnership, Yesports will introduce a ‘Partnership NFT Collectible’ giveaway this week. These NFTs are expected to unlock fan access and perks for its holder.
Sean Zhang, CEO of Talon Esports, commented: “Web 3.0, NFTs and the Metaverse are going to create unique and exciting ways in which we can engage with fans. We are thrilled to be working with Yesports in developing this future.
“Having seen the plans of real and virtual work utility, eco-conscious strategy and a great line of esports teams, we cannot be more thrilled as we develop these experiences that will provide genuine value for our fans.”
According to the release, Yesports’ vision is to deliver an ‘unrivalled esports-centric Web 3.0 platform’ that allows fans to participate in the metaverse.
Yesports has cited that Talon’s NFTs will eventually grant holders a variety of perks. This includes signed merchandise drops and online meet-and-greet sessions with players, as well as announcements regarding future NFT drops.

Sebastian Quinn, CEO of Yesports, added: “With our partnerships, Yesports becomes the world’s largest esports-focused NFT marketplace with over 16.5m fans from the get-go and represents the beginning of a new generation in esports fan engagement – one that takes place in Web 3.0.
“We are excited to deliver real-world utility into the NFTs themselves and give them a multitude of functionalities well beyond just a beautiful collector’s item.”
Esports Insider says: It’s certainly an interesting time within the esports industry as NFT partnerships start to flesh out and become more than just creating and owning a token. Only time will tell whether this partnership will be successful as it heavily replies on demand. Nevertheless, it’s good to see fan engagement opportunities being discussed alongside the NFT token’s launch.
