A couple of weeks ago, the most successful League of Legends organization T1 SK Telecom announced a new project. According to the official statement, they want to form a team and join the professional Dota 2 scene.
Despite the fact that there was no information since then, the Hainan Cup Master will be the first event for the new team. It is an online tournament made for the Chinese and Southeast Asian teams and T1 will be one of the teams there. That said, we only know the name of one of the T1’s players so far – Lee “Forev” Sang-don. Whether there will be a full South Korean team is still up in the air.
Even though this will be a partly online tournament with around $70K prize pool, there are some very strong names already announced.
China will be represented by EHOME, Vici Gaming, Royal Never Give Up and Team Aster. Apart from T1, there are two spots left for teams coming through the qualifiers.
There will also be a LAN part of the tournament on the second and third of November. Expect more information whenever it gets available.
