Games developer and publisher Riot Games has announced Brazilian ecommerce brand Submarino as the latest sponsor of the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Brazil.
In addition, Submarino will also be featured as the sponsor of VCT Game Changers, a programme by Riot Games that looks to promote and provide opportunities for women in esports.

This is Submarino’s latest endeavour within the esports sector. Perhaps the brand’s highest-profile esports partnership was its deal with Brazilian organisation LOUD in 2021. Coincidentally, LOUD recently reached worldwide esports headlines after finishing runner-up at VALORANT Masters Reykjavík 2022.
In the press release, Vitor Monte, Head of Marketing at Submarino, commented: “Sponsoring an esports championship as important as the VCT is an incredible opportunity for Submarino, as the universe of games and technology are in our DNA.
“We recognise Brazil as a great power in the segment, so we increasingly want to serve as a reference for the enthusiast audience for games and Esports at all times that involve this lifestyle.”
Submarino is a brand from the B2W Digital group. The group also has esports ties with one of its other brands, with Lojas Americanas currently sponsoring Los Grandes.
Carlos Antunes, Leader of Esports at Riot Games Brazil, added: “This partnership not only shows how brands increasingly understand the relevance of games and their universe of possibilities, but also the great potential of Brazil in Riot Games’ esports.”

The deal was negotiated by the marketing agency Druid, which was also involved in producing a video announcing the partnership.
Esports Insider says: It may not be a coincidence that Submarino sponsors the competitive VALORANT scene after LOUD almost reached the top of the world in this esport. It is also impressive how Druid is constantly involved with some of the main esports deals happening in Brazil.
