BIG, Brazil’s answer to E3, was just tricked into holding a talk on “Why NFTs are Nightmare”. The host put on this with anticipation that the speech wouldn’t be approved, and instead told organizers the talk would be on the “future of game design”. The crowd agreed with him in spite of the lack of attention he gave to him, as he acted like a slave.

Game developer Mark Venturelli announced yesterday that he was going to speak against cryptocurrency implementation shortly before it started. Several gaming companies have been slapping NFTs, despite crashing crypto market, little developer interest and the criminal scene affixed with gangging and a stolen game.

“You went wrong with me.” According to a friend of mine, the name of my talk isn’t ‘The Future of Game Design’. The first word of the book was “Chicago”. “I had to change it or they wouldn’t approve.” The term “NFTs” was used to describe the nightmares.
According to the eyewitness, the journalist Rique Sampaio, Venturelli was greeted by a standing ovation, presumably suggesting that his fellow game devs weren’t very keen on the event with other pro-web3 talks. Sampaio notes that the room was full of promos for a cryptocurrency company called Ripio. While it was a big crypto event this year, it was unsurprising that Venturelli had to be slightly vague on what he’d really do if it got it approved.
One recorded the talk hasn’t been shared on the event’s website, but the report also shared on the above tweet. I think that although the description is not the same, many would like to be called out NFTs and describe what we do today. Is this future all right or is it only smoke and mirrors?
