After a couple of days of intense action, ESL One Hamburg 2019, one of most loved events of the year is finally over. We saw tons of back-and-forth action and amazing moments. Let’s take a brief look at some of the most interesting moments.
Most of the big favorites secured their top places in the groups and continued to the main event. However, there were a couple of teams that failed to do, even though people expected them to shine.
Perhaps the biggest upset of the event was the elimination of Team Liquid. The ex-Alliance roster failed to achieve anything and was completely ran down by the other teams at the tournament. By the looks of it, the team definitely has to change something if they want to have any chance at winning a big tournament this DPC.
Unlike the groups, the main event was not that dramatic in terms of upsets. However, there was definitely one of them – Vici Gaming’s elimination. Even though the Chinese powerhouse was the favorite in their match against beastcoast, the South American team played absolutely out of their mind and were able to deliver their knock-out punch.
Apart from them, TNC and Alliance were the other teams that definitely stood out. The European squad showcased another solid performance after they’ve won DreamLeague Season 12 a couple of days prior. Unfortunately, they got eliminated in the LB final against Gambit.
The last series of the day was between TNC Predator and Gambit Esports, two of the best teams right now. As you can imagine, the hype was to the roof as we got to see five thriller games. In the end, the SEA powerhouse was the one that won the trophy.
Both teams tried out various tactics but it seems like Artsiom “fng” Barshack kind of “out-drafted” TNC’s captain. However, in game five, kpii and his team-mates decided to roll out their classic Alchemist who proved to be one of the strongest heroes at this tournament. Needless to say, TNC had little to no trouble and secured the trophy.
Be sure to watch the upcoming DPC tournaments because they are really going to be epic. Remember that we are yet to see some of the biggest names in Dota back in action.
