Singularity Esports are back; Na’Vi and Gambit reject ESL One Mumbai’s qualifiers

by devaccess

The organization have finally decided to pick up a new roster in Dota 2. This time, it’s a team that played in the recent StarLadder ImbaTV EU qualifiers – The ReaL DeaL. The team consists of some very known players such as the TI winner EGM and Miposhka. Their most recent challenge were the Dota 2 Pro Circuit Minor qualifiers.  Sadly, TRD was unable to go through because they lost to Alliance as well as Vega Squadron

Despite the loss, it seems like the squad have shown some signs of improvement which was picked up by Singularity esports. The Danish organization is most famous for its all-Polish Dota 2 squad which they picked up in 2017. Despite having great hopes, the team didn’t live up to its potential. Hopefully this time they will have more luck. Only time will tell.

Singularity Esports’s roster from 1 to 5:

  • Steve ‘Xcalibur’ Ye
  • Jure ‘Pingvincek’ Plešej
  • Maxim ‘Shachlo’ Abromovskikh
  • Jerry ‘EGM’ Lundkvist
  • Yaroslav ‘Miposhka’ Naidenov

ESL’s event in India was announced over a month ago. The funny part is that the tournament will be held at the same time as the Dota Pit Minor, which is a DPC event. It’s a dejavu from few days ago, when ESL One Katowice and MDL Macau were both held at the same time.

This is the second ESL event that overlaps with another. I hope that the organizers of the events will try to sync their schedules because it kinda sucks to have two events at the same time.  The only positive thing is that we, the viewers, will have the opportunity to bet on two events. Be sure to check our predictions page if you are not sure which is the right choice!

Of course, teams such as Na’Vi and Gambit will always choose the DPC event.  After all, the points that they can earn are needed in order to have a chance for that direct invite for TI 9. The replacements of the two CIS teams are going to be Kaipi and Team Jekich.

Here is a list of all teams that will play in the regional qualifiers

EU/CIS – ELements Pro Gaming, The Pango, Kaipi, Team Jekich

America – J.Storm, Team Team, compLexity Gaming, Flying Penguins

South East Asia – TNC Predator, Lotac, 496 Gaming, PC. Barracx

China – Royal Never Give Up, Keen Gaming, Team Ever, Mr Game Boy

Only one team from each region will be able to qualify for the LAN event, however, they will be joined by seven more teams which will be directly invited.  ESL One Mumbai will offer a luckrative $300,000 prize pool. If you want to watch it live, you have to go to the NSCI Dome in April from April 19-21.

The actually format of the event is still not clear. We believe that the twelve teams will be placed into two groups, however, we are yet to see if this will be the case.
