The Group Stage of the first DPC qualifier is now officially over. We already covered EU, CIS, SEA, and China, so be sure to check it out here in case you missed it. That said, let’s take a look at North and South America.
The North American group stage was as pretty much everyone expected it to be. Evil Geniuses got the first place in Group A without dropping a single game. On the other hand, J.Storm secured the second spot in the group and a chance to fight for the MDL Chengdu. In the second group, Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan’s new team and Fighting Pepegas got the first two spots.
Later today, we will be able to see one of the most hyped series of the day – EG vs QC. It will be very interesting to see if Artour “Arteezy” Babaev got what it takes to lead his team to victory.
Beastcoast (the ex Infamous) and paiN Gaming had no problems here. Both teams finished first in their groups without dropping a single game. However, Gorillaz-Pride is probably one of the biggest upsets here. This team definitely had what it takes to be among the best but they will have to wait for the next DPC qualifiers to prove that.
