ESL One Hamburg 2019 team lineup announced

by Ben Hill

ESL One Hamburg 2019 kicks off with its group stage in less than 24 hours as the 12 teams compete for their share of the spoils over the next week. The teams were named for the event with that in mind.

Just five days ago, ESL One had to find replacements for two players, Geek Fam and Invictus Gaming, since the two qualifier squads would block their route to the competition with Visa issues. That didn’t stop the case from kicking things into gear, however, and we are now less than 24 hours away from the first group stage games. They will be grouped into two classes with a maximum of 12 teams competing in the event:

Group A

  • Alliance
  • Beastcoast
  • Fighting Pandas
  • Vici Gaming
  • Vikin.gg
  • Virtus.pro

Group B

  • Gambit Esports
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Quincy Crew
  • Team Liquid
  • TNC Predator
  • Wind and Rain

With the groups now set up, we are waiting for the first games with a string of best-of-two series to kick off tomorrow. The groups will have achieved their seeding for the Main Event by the end of the group stage on Thursday, October 24–with the top two from each class making it into the top bracket. The bottom two from both groups, however, will be eliminated from the event at the end of the group stages.

At ESL One Hamburg 2019, there are a number of teams to keep your eyes on; DreamHack Rotterdam, Minor or Major winners and those who performed amazingly last season but had a host of changes in the roster. All-in-all, the competition hopes to be fantastic and it’s going to be great to see what some of these players can do with the Minor and Major coming up fast.
