Cloud 9 adds Subroza and removes TenZ from CSGO roster

In CS:GO, Cloud9 is still looking to get back on track. After just three activities as part of the team lineup, the company reported Tyson “TenZ” Ngo’s benching. Yassine “Subroza”‘ Taoufik is replacing him on the active roster.

“We recently decided to bench TenZ and I understand that may be a surprise to the family,” said Macaulay, coach of Cloud9 James “JamezIRL.” “Others may expect it, but we think it’s the best decision to move forward. There is a clash between him and the rest of the team in the ideal style of play.

I think he has great potential to be on a pro team in the future, but I don’t think it’s time for him to play for us now. “TenZ made his debut for Cloud9 at BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles and performed fairly well on an individual level, helping the team to finish fourth, including a win over the FaZe Clan and a draw against MiBR and NRG Esports. His performance dropped off from there, though, and the difficulties of Cloud9 continued.

The sticking point between TenZ and the rest of the team is unknown, but Cloud9 is TenZ’s first exposure at the highest level of play and he remains relatively young at the age of just 18.

Cloud9 hires Subroza, formerly charged with stealing Subroza is taking the place of TenZ on C9. He joins the ECS Season 8 North America Division and BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen on a trial basis for the remaining league play. Because of his background and attitude, JamezIRL said he’s a good fit.

Subroza is certainly seasoning better than TenZ. He has worked for a few high-profile organisations during his professional career, most recently spending a year with Ghost Gaming.

He previously played with Lazarus Esports, where he had a solid run in domestic competitions in North America, including qualifying for the StarLadder Berlin Major Americas Minor and winning the WINNERS League Season 2.

While he’s had a fairly successful career to this point, he’s best known for widespread allegations of target locks fraud, particularly during his time with Counter Logic Gaming. Nevertheless, Subroza has performed without further allegations of fraud at a number of prominent live events.

HisCloud9 debut comes with a series against INTZ Esports on October 21.
