Valve has recently unveiled the important dates for the qualifiers of the ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor and the Short film contest. Let’s have a look at the details of both announcements.
Valve officially revealed to the Dota 2 community that ImbaTV and StarLadder will be organizing the last Minor of the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit. This is a more prestigious competition than any of the previous events of this category, since it will grant two tickets to the Major. The EPICENTER major is the last tournament for the teams teams to secure direct qualification to The International 2019.
StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor is all set to be held in June. The competition will take place in Kiev, Ukraine at the Kiev Cybersport Arena. Eight teams will compete for supremacy from 12th to 16th to get their hands on the last two spots of the EPICENTER. They will also be motivated to compete for the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize pool.
The community cheered when Valve announced no direct invites in the DPC because teams would have the “prove” they deserve it but honestly when you spend weeks bootcamping, playing an entire Major and then having to go home & play qualifiers 1 day later it is fucking exhausting.
