The company announcing today, January 26, will extend its break for the whole season to the world champion Anathan “ana” Pham who is to participate in the event.
OG plans to return on 9 February to the competitive race with the third round of Major and Minor playoffs, but this year they will compete for the third Aegis of Champions without the Io Leader, compared to the previous year, when they were able to reassemble in time for The International.
In the previous season, Ana went to the MDL Disneyland ® Paris Major for a break after champions of TI8 during Shanghai and came back to his team at the end of March 2019. From there, OG reached its base and took an absolute leap in TI9, extending from its upper corner into the grand finals. They defeated the liquid squad 3-1 which was the first team in the history of Dota 2, to defend the Aegis of Champions successfully.
Only a week before the next qualifying round, where OG will begin in the open brackets, Ana’s replacement is still uncertain. The Dota 2 community is looking forward to the premiere of the documentary TI9 True Sight on January 28, following the completion of major in Leipzig. The next day, the TI Champions will host a talk show “OGNight,” which might reveal a new player joining them on the TI10 road.
