Nordic esports community portal Fragbite has reached an agreement with RFRSH Entertainment that sees it receive the exclusive broadcast rights for BLAST Pro Series in Sweden.
Fragbite will broadcast the numerous events that make up the BLAST Pro Series for the rest of 2019.
BLAST Pro Series’ stop in São Paulo, Brazil wrapped up on March 23rd with RFRSH Entertainment’s Astralis brand emerging victorious. Other instalments of the series in 2019 that have been announced so far include Miami, USA in April, Madrid, Spain in May, and Los Angeles, USA in July.
Daniel Pereaux, CEO of Fragbite commented in a statement: “We are of course very happy. Blast can be compared to the Champions League in football or the Super Bowl in American football. We had two very successful broadcasts at the end of 2018, where we managed to create something completely unique in Swedish esports broadcast.
“The combination of the world’s best cs:go players together with some of Sweden’s most popular hostesses and guests in esports, had the effect: Over 120,000 unique Swedish viewers within the target group 18-35 years. These are numbers that compete with well-known classic TV titles, seen digitally in weekly shows – something we are proud of. As an advertiser, this is a unique opportunity to activate against the target group.”
Earlier this month, BLAST Pro Series agreed with Betway on a one-year sponsorship deal and entered a strategic partnership with Komodo. In January, an agreement was made with Globo TV for the exclusive broadcast rights in Brazil.
Esports Insider says: RFRSH Entertainment has been busy this year, already securing a number deals and partnerships for its CS:GO tournament series. It’s clear that it’s taking more care in securing broadcasting in countries and regions that its competing teams hail from – MIBR in Brazil and Ninjas in Pyjamas in Sweden, for example. This seems like a solid move.
