On August 5, 2018, bots of the OpenAI beat the caster team in front of TI, and in the main tournament of the year, they lost to paiN Gaming and the national team of Chinese stars. There were a number of restrictions in the meetings – the teams played the same heroes from a limited pool and could not use illusions.
In January 2019, OpenAI developers offered professional teams to test the new version of bots. Whether someone responded to their request is unknown.
