Shroud’s charity challenge went horribly wrong – esportsjunkie

In Apex Legends, the world-class streamer, Shroud launched a bid to raise a lot of money in a charity challenge, but it went horribly wrong.

The Charity Challenge

Popular twitch content creator MrBeast has over 16 million subscribers on YouTube. He is known for regularly announcing challenges involving a lot of money. The participating candidates would have to perform in-game or real life stunts that MrBeast assigns them if they are successful in doing so, he then writes out crazy sums of money as-as award. If the participant is wealthy, the money goes to a good cause.

Most recently, the top player Shroud was on the line with Mr Beast. Shroud is considered one of the best players of Apex Legends. His legendary skills with on the online shooter titles like CS: GO and Apex have earned him the awesome name ” Human Aimbot “. Since he is a quite successful streamer and a former legend of CS: GO, the money would have not gone into his pockets, but would have been donated to a charitable cause.

$ 5000 per kill for charity

In the MrBeast Challenge, Shroud had to do just what he does best: Knockdown ineffective players in Apex Legends. There was a $ 5,000 award per kill. MrBeast came to Shroud live and watched him play. Owing to Shroud’s impressive skills, there should have certainly been a six-figure sum.

Unstable game ruins everything

However, everything turned out quite differently: Unfortunately, the game had other ideas about Shroud’s challenge. Since the moment when he had just made around $ 30,000 dollars, it suddenly went blank and in a matter of seconds, Shroud was directed to the start screen. A bug had just kicked him out of the game and ruined everything. The last words of Shroud were: “Oh no, really now? Is that really happening? Oh no, I was only 30,000! “.

In the end, MrBeast had a look and he convincingly donated $ 100,000, as if Shroud had made a top round in Apex Legends with 20 kills. In reality, it is quite disappointing to see a technical problem had ruined the endeavors for a good cause.

Top tier player

Shroud is sort of an ambassador of Apex Legends. He is an excellent player of the battle royale title. The hype surrounding the Apex Title also sped up his own rise on Twitch. In addition, he was instrumental in the development of the game and has possibly influenced its meta. The excellent gunplay and announcement of Octane nerf before being implemented by Apex says a lot how much influence Shroud has on the title.

Recently Shroud has also criticized the “hot drop” system on his stream. He revealed that this thirst of the hot drop has led the battle royale to become boring in the late game. Given that most players flock to a few, specific points, many ends up getting killed just in the early stages of every game, making the final stages of the match boring and deserted.
