Brewers vs Orioles Prediction (Apr 13): MLB Betting tips

by Shane Lambert

The Milwaukee Brewers are off to a 9-3 start this season. This franchise has been in the thick of things when it comes to contending for the playoffs in recent seasons. However, this season not a lot is expected out of Milwaukee. Their 9-3 start would be considered a surprise when measured against what the preseason pundits normally offered. Milwaukee will face the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 (4 PM ET). The Orioles are favored in the game at -1.5 (bet365) on the runline. My Brewers vs Orioles prediction is that Baltimore will win this game on a prop bet that focuses on the first five innings.

Milwaukee vs Baltimore Prediction: Latest MLB News

These two teams played on Friday, a game that Baltimore hosted. The Brewers improved to 9-3 on the season and 6-1 as visitors with an 11-1 victory over Baltimore. Meanwhile, the Orioles fell to 8-5 and 4-3 at home. Milwaukee’s non-starting pitching that saw action in the game were just Bukauskas and Vieira. Meanwhile, Baltimore used relievers Heasley, Tate, and Webb as their starter only lasted four innings.

Starting Pitching: DL Hall vs Dean Kremer

Milwaukee’s probable starting pitcher is DL Hall. He has had two starts so far this season with an 0-1 record. The lefthander has given up 14 hits in 9.1 innings of work so far. Hall’s last outing was on April 6th. He took the loss in a game versus the Seattle Mariners. He will be pitching on six full days of rest on Saturday.

In his two previous seasons, he has only started one other game. This pitcher is not clearly a starter-caliber pitcher in the majors. Milwaukee looks like they are experimenting with him and only using him after plenty of rest.

Kremer is a 29-year-old right-hander. So far this season, he has had two starts but remains 0-0 on the year. Last season, he went 13-5 for Baltimore but there was nothing remarkable about his ERA or WHIP at 4.12 and 1.31 respectively. His record looks like it was a run-support record.

Through his two starts this season, he has been sharp. His last outing was on Sunday, April 7th. In seven innings in that game, he did not give up an earned run. One thing that stands out with his season so far is that he has issued just one walk in 12.1 innings pitched. We are looking at short-term trends still but his control is better so far than what we’ve seen in the past out of this player.

Brewers vs Orioles Prediction: Betting Tips

I think bettors will have to assume that Hall is going to be on a short leash in this one. I am worried about opposing Milwaukee in full force because they have some rested arms in the bullpen. Also, 6-1 on the road isn’t a great record to bet against. But I like Baltimore for the early lead in this game. My recommendation is for the Orioles to win on the 5-inning line at -135 in the innings prop section (bet365).
