Virtus.pro renews partnership with Parimatch for 2020

Russian organisation Virtus.pro has extended its partnership with native bookmaker Parimatch to last through 2020.

The arrangement will see Parimatch’s branding featured across the organisation’s team jerseys, website, and social media channels.

Building off of a relationship established in August 2018, Parimatch will continue to utilise Virtus.pro’s Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams as vehicles for the partnership.

Stepan Shulga, Head of Esports at Parimatch commented on the partnership renewal in a release: “Virtus.pro was our first big esports sponsorship deal, and we are excited to continue this partnership in 2020. Virtus.pro is one of the most recognizable clubs in the esports world. It became even more formidable in 2019 by signing one of the strongest CS:GO rosters to date. The Dota 2 team is also showing signs of success. At Parimatch, we want to support teams and individuals who are fired up to win and committed to entertaining their fans. Virtus.pro, go for the victory!”

This year, the betting operator has partnered with ESforce Holding, the parent company of Virtus.pro, to launch the Parimatch League – a Dota 2 competition featuring a number of top teams. The following iteration of the tournament series is slated for the “first half of 2020” with a prize pool of $100,000 (£76,394.50). With its ESforce alliance, and the company’s ownership position in event series EPICENTER, Parimatch became a partner of EPICENTER 2019’s CS:GO tournament in December.

Sergey Glamazda, General Manager of Virtus.pro also discussed the extension: “Parimatch shares not only our values but the future of esports as we see it. Our joined experience will help us to conduct even more projects that will be there for the fans. We are facing ambitious goals and we are glad that we are working together with a trusted partner. ”

Earlier in the year, Parimatch forged a six-month partnership with another Russian organisation, Team Spirit. The deal promised similar branding opportunities to that of its Virtus.pro collaboration.

Esports Insider says: The partnership extension at hand will drive Parimatch further into a group of household names in esports betting. While Betway has far-and-away established itself as a market leader in the space, Parimatch’s movement this year alone is enough to bring the bookmaker into the conversation.
