For the best part of the decade, the Worlds of League and Dota 2 have been at war. Members of the world’s two largest MOBAs say that their respective games are equal to each other and that the two groups often take cheap shots.
On 23 December the argument between the two took place after Team Liquid AD Doublelift said Dota 2 was better than League. Doublelift said it was. “There is a chance 0 per cent that Dota 2 has higher mechanical skill than League,” he mentioned about Dota.”
[It has] speed, integrated lag, and not many skill shots, shots and mobility. You have more buttons, but they are targeted, which means that a high degree of mechanical capacity is not often necessary. Doublelift admitted that he played a bit of the game to back his remarks, saying he could “stomp every pick-up,” thanks to the eight years that his playing permitted him, “throughout all the game, stomp.”
N0tail, though, hit back and said the League is dull and uninteractive. “What are the vital targets, if 4-5 kills in an average of pro games in 30 minutes?” he said.
“Is it a mega-extended landing stage where the last hits and harassment are all concerned?”N0tail has a point, since the League and Dota are extremely different in the early game. League has a very slow laning level, which is targeted at not losing and scaling before the item breaks down.
The International Champion twice declared that he found League easy and said that “I too went into my first and only League games and sh*tstomped.” He decided to invite a number of players from the other team to sit down, talk about their games and perhaps resolve the discussion.
The double lift can have a bigger mouth, but the cups are N0tail.
“Ceb and I will meet two well-represented LoL teams, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each and every one of our scenes and address in detail the gaps in our game,” said Ceb.
Doublelift has a relatively few successes in League of Legends under his belt and would make it a perfect candidate for the Podcast, including the MSI Finals appearance and seven LCS titles.
Players such as Luka ‘ Perkz’ Perkovic and Rasmus ‘ Caps’ Winther also make perfect prospects, and two of the most experienced League players in the western world are MSI 2019 champions and 2019 race cars.
Regardless of which game more expertise is required, N0tail said it’s what you love at the end of the day. “The two games certainly are fantastic, curious about the more difficult aspects,” he said.
While such a dialogue is impossible to once and for all bring the Dota vs League rivalry to rest, the divide between the two groups could be bridged. Otherwise, everything will intensify the division and fiercer competition and maybe that is what both sides of the team want.
