The last two splits have been a success story for the 100 Thieves. After acquiring almost all the up-and-coming Golden Guardians roster, 100T has enjoyed two straight finals and won the first trophy in the organization’s history. But we are now two splits removed from the championship, and multiple teams strengthening their rosters means 100T isn’t the best team in the league.
100 Thieves LCS Preview 2022 Roster

Coming into Spring 2022, this roster was one of the two favorites to win the league, with TL, according to most analysts. In the end, the reigning champions did not make any roster changes and were one of the few teams that started the new split without any problems with player availability. Despite all this, they had a pretty rough start. First the disappointing Lock-in, then a slow start to the regular season. Of course, they manage to get back to their form for the playoffs, even if it didn’t have a happy ending.
The reason 100T aren’t higher in our power rankings is the types of issues they experienced during Spring. The most apparent one was the underperformance of most of the roster, except Kim ‘Ssumday’ Chan-ho and Can ‘Closer’ Çelik. Especially Felix ‘Abbedagge’ Braun who was the missing piece for the championship run had a very bad split, which was surprising as with the weak mid-lane pool most expected him to shine more.
The second part is their bot lane. Victor ‘FBI’ Huang and Choi ‘huhi’ Jae-hyun duo was the best bot lane partnership in Summer 2021 without a doubt. But the same laning prowess was missing from Spring Split. We didn’t see as many 2v2 kills or the same amount of early dives against the enemy bot lane. And with the durability update and the buffed damage from towers making these dives harder, it is normal to expect them to occur less and less. Without this pressure from their bot lane, 100T did not seem like the same team.
Of course, they still made the finals, so they aren’t making any roster changes, and they didn’t need to. We know their top and jungle are already in form. We saw Ssumday carrying more games than he usually had to, especially on Tryndamere. And if the other three players can step up to a level we know they are capable of, I believe this team has enough firepower to make three straight finals.
