Virtus.Pro’s new Dota 2 Roster Revealed

by Zlosterr

Virtus.Pro have revealed their roster for the 2022/23 DPC season.

Virtus.Pro has always been a name that Dota 2 fans respect. Once the best team in CIS, the organization has had a lot of problems in the last 2 years and failed to live up to the expectations. Naturally, this led to tons of roster changes, but none of them worked. As a result, VP failed to qualify for The International 11.

However, it seems like the CIS powerhouse is ready to dominate again because it revealed its new roster.

The new team

The fact that VP did not qualify for The International 11 was disappointing, to say the least. Despite the big expectations, Ramzess and the rest failed to shine. Hence, fans expected the organization to make some changes.

After waiting for a while, VP’s new roster is revealed and consists of the following players:

  • Kamil “Koma`” Biktimirov
  • Ilya “squad1x” Kuvaldin
  • Evgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko
  • Oleg “sayuw” Kalenbet
  • Andrey “Dukalis” Kuropatkin

As you can see, Virtus.Pro decided to try the “new meta in roster changes” and bet on new and upcoming players who are eager for success. Other teams, such as OG, have done the same; as we’ve seen so far, the results were impressive.

Most of VP’s new players do not have that much experience in the professional Dota 2 scene. That said, Dukalis was a part of Alliance for around 2 months, so he has some experience playing for a big Dota 2 team.

Speaking of experience, sayuw is probably the only person who’s been playing for more than 5 years now. Naturally, he switched tons of teams over the years, such as Team Empire, HellRaisres, One Move and even Gambit Esports. He is definitely the most experienced member of the new squad.

Noticed is also an interesting name because he started his professional career with VP.Prodigy. However, he eventually made a move to BetBoom Team and even took part in The International 11. Sadly, the CIS team did not live up to the expectations and was one of the first that got eliminated.

As for VP’s carry and midder, neither has any prior experience in a T1 team, so fans will be eager to see what they’re capable of. Who knows, they might be the new BZM and Yuragi.

Other news

In addition to the reveal of Virtus. Pro’s new roster consists of 5 Russian players, the organization also announced that Vitalie “Save-” Melnic is no longer a part of the team. The 20-year-old support player was a part of VP for more than 3 years. However, he’s been inactive since 2021, and it seems like the CIS squad does not have any plans for him in the future. During his time at the organization, Save- also played for VP.Prodigy.

As one of the most prominent Dota 2 organizations in the world, Virtus.Pro will do everything in its power to become the best once again. The CIS region hasn’t been doing that well recently following Team Spirit’s TI 10 victory. None of the teams reached the top during TI 11, so it will be interesting to see whether the new DPC will change something.

Speaking of the devil, Dota 2’s new DPC is on its way because the roster locks will take place just a few days from now.
