Mars, the God of War and the first son of heaven has been in Dota 2 for a few weeks now, and although he is not yet available in Captain Mode, he is one of the most popular heroes in public games combined with certain heroes. Let’s see the best combos with two of his skills: The Spears of Mars and the Blood Arena.
Mars and Dark Willow
Both the heroes have probably the best combo in the game. Mars locks the enemies inside the Blood Arena and Dark Willow launches her ultimate. This causes the enemies to make random runs for 4 seconds (5.5 seconds with the level 25 talent), hitting the walls of the arena, again and again, to continue receiving 250 damage (in level 3 of the ability).
Enclosing two or more heroes within this combo is a virtually certain way to guarantee a team fight win. There are other options such as the fear of the Bear of Lone Druid (2.4 seconds) or that of Queen of Pain (1.5 seconds with Scream of Pain for talents in level 25).
The Lance of Mars
This ability can stun up a hero by 2.8 seconds if he manages to spear him to a tree, cliff or any other structure. Additionally, there are certain skills that can help achieve this effect. Let’s see the skills of three heroes, although there may be some more:
Nature’s Prophet
The most obvious skill is the Sprouting of Nature’s Prophet that surrounds the enemy with trees. If both heroes coordinate well, the opponent can remain stunned even when the trees have disappeared.
Clockwerk
Apparently, you can consider Clockwerk’s Gears as a structure. It allow Mars to easily cast his Spear and stun the enemy inside.
The ability of Clockwerk lasts up to 8 seconds with the maximum points, so there is enough time to spear the opponent with the Spear of Mars.
Tusk
Finally, we have the Tusk Ice Shards, though it is not simple for Mars to hit the Lance as with the skills as it was in the case of Nature’s Prophet or Clockwerk. Basically, because the Spear cannot be directed to the hero in any direction. The Shards of Ice form a semicircle, therefore Mars has only 180 degrees to stun the enemy.
The good thing about all these stuns is that even if the structure to which the hero strikes vanishes, the stun’s durability is not affected.
Taking advantage of the radius of the Blood Sand
There are three heroes who take advantage of the radius of the Blood Arena of Mars so that their respective ultimate abilities do all the damage possible. They are Riki, Monkey King, and Gyrocopter.
Normally, with a Force Staff, we could leave Riki’s ultimate, Monkey King’s Wukong Command and Gyrocopter’s ultimate, but Mars’s Blood Arena does not allow it and as all these abilities do damage. Moreover, using a Blink Dagger to leave the ultimate is not possible. If combined with any of the above heroes, the power of Mars in the game is devastative.
