TORONTOTOKYO Part Ways With Team Spirit

by Zlosterr

Iconic Team Spirit midlander, TORONTOTOKYO has announced he is parting ways with the organization.

The post-TI 11 roster changes are on and we’ve already seen a lot of changes, meaning that the new DPC will be more interesting than ever before. After Ammar decided to join Nigma and leave OG, we had another bomb from Europe. This time, the news is from Eastern Europe, and it affects the TI 10 champions, Team Spirit. According to the organization, the TI 10 winners with part ways with Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek, the team’s mid-laner

What happened?

Everyone who paid close attention to The International 11 won’t be surprised by Spirit’s decision to make some changes. Despite the fact that the squad won TI 10 and dominated in the subsequent DPC, it failed to live up to the expectations. Team Spirit was eliminated early on and failed to win The International for the second time in a row.

Many Dota 2 fans did not expect the team to perform so badly because Spirit was flawless in Eastern Europe. What’s more, the players reached the final of the Riyadh Masters 2022 and even won the last Major of the DPC. However, it seems like this was not enough for them to dominate at TI.

TORONTOTKYO was a part of the Russian organization for more than 2 years and became one of the best players in the world. He was one of the main reasons why his team won Dota 2’s biggest tournament in terms of prize money.

According to the organization, they’ve talked with the player, but in the end, both parties came to the conclusion that Team Spirit will start the new season with a roster change.

TORONTOTOKYO’S History

Prior to becoming a part of Team Spirit, TORONTOTKYO played for Yellow Submarine, a T2 CIS team. However, once Spirit signed him in 2020, he quickly showed that he is one of the best players in the world. He and his teammates were the underdogs at TI 11, but Spirit ripped through everyone and won the event.

What’s next?

We don’t know whether TORONTOTOKYO will be looking for a new team in the near future. The player won a lot of money in the last 2 years, so he might decide to retire or do something else. That said, OG recently lost Ammar, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the CIS player becomes a part of the two-time TI-winning organization. Virtus.Pro already made their roster changes, so he will have to focus on a different region if he wants to play with the best.

As for Team Spirit, the organization will be looking for a new midder to join its roster. There are a couple of hot options, such as GPK, which is no longer a part of Virtus.Pro. Besides being one of the best in the world, he is also from the same region, which will make things way easier.

It will be interesting to see what will happen, so make sure you follow us for more information. Needless to say, keep an eye on the hottest Dota 2 betting sites if you don’t want to miss out on a lot of options.
