The beginning of Fortnite’s latest in-game season featuring new content helped the title reclaim its spot at the top of the chart beating out the newer battle royal title Apex Legends.

The following titles are ranked according to the total number of hours watched on Twitch Database-Link-e1521645463907, from Tuesday to the following Monday, with data compiled using TEO Analytics.

Back at the Top

Fortnite Database-Link-e1521645463907 has made its way back to the top of the Twitch chart for content on the heels of a big release of in-game content. Fortnite’s in-game season system allows players to level their accounts by playing matches, and with each level comes new content. Additionally, new seasons bring with them small changes to parts of the vast Fortnite map that freshen up the experience for players and give streamers new areas to explore and show their fans.

While the new battle royale on the block Apex Legends came to Twitch with record-breaking strength and potential, Fortnite’s ability to reel influencers back in with new content shows that the title is here to stay. Whether or not broadcasters will move back toward favoring Apex Legends in the long run is to-be-determined, but Fortnite’s resurgence shows that it still has a lot of life left as one of Twitch’s most influencer-friendly pieces of content.

The Major Effect

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Database-Link-e1521645463907 typically isn’t a top three piece of content on Twitch, but with ESL’s Database-Link-e1521645463907 IEM Katowice Major concluding last week, the title managed to hit nearly 15M hours watched on Twitch.

The bulk of that viewership came from this week’s most-watched channel, ESL’s CS:GO broadcast. However, a slew of other alternative-language broadcasts gave it an international flavor to its audience that some titles in the top 10 tend to lack.

Among the top channels that drew viewership for CS:GO were Portuguese, Russian, German, and French-language broadcasts.

Down to Earth

Apex Legends lost its top at the spot of the content chart this week, but it wasn’t all gloom and doom for the new title. Much of its viewership was lost at the hands of Fortnite influencers streaming new content.

Despite the loss of viewership from a few top influencers like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, the game managed to maintain more than 16M hours watched with significant chunks of airtime coming from Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar, Herschel “Dr DisRespect” Beahm, and breakout streamer Coby “Dizzy” Meadows, who now plays for NRG Esports Database-Link-e1521645463907.
