In February, Fortnite was under siege as broadcasters flocked to the newer battle royale title Apex Legends, and after the more cartoonish shooter regained its foothold, GTA role play streams began to pique the interest of viewers.

With constant updates to in-game cosmetics and gameplay, as well as the start of World Cup qualifications, Fortnite has been able to reclaim a spot at the top of Twitch for the first time since January.

Something to Watch For

Where Did You Go?

As fans flock back to Fortnite it’s easy to forget about the success that Apex Legends had earlier in the year, but with another week passing, the title has seen a drop in viewership yet again.

In February, the new battle royale produced more than 30M hours watched during each of its first two full weeks on Twitch. The last game to produce that much for just one week alone was Dota 2 during the week of The International.

While the game’s decline in viewership hasn’t been as rapid as that of Call of Duty Database-Link-e1521645463907 when it came out with its own battle royale mode, the decline has been steady and consistent.
