Tyler “Ninja” Blevins dominated Twitch all in 2018 following his record-breaking stream with rapper Drake, but this year he’s seen significantly less viewership on Twitch. While his numbers are down year-over-year for the month of May, he’s been gaining steam.

A combination of Dota 2’s massive popularity among Russian-language viewers, a relatively dense Dota 2 esports schedule, and the Dota2RuHub’s hold on Russian-language coverage of events made it more watched than any other channel this month despite not making the top 10 last year.

Even though the streaming of the beta didn’t begin until halfway through the month, the two managed to sit in the top five among personality streamers. For the second half of the month alone, Morris posted 6.7M hours watched and “Asmongold” recorded 5.3M hours watched.
If this trend continues despite the beta having a limited amount of content, it could provide potential for a second surge in viewership among personality streamers when Classic’s full-game release in August approaches.
