Year-Over-Year
This March represented parity among personality streamers relative to last year when Tyler “Ninja” Blevins racked up 28M hours watched following his explosion due in part to a stream with popular rapper Drake.
The closest competition to Blevins last year was Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek with 8.5M hours watched. Only three personalities during March in 2018 even managed to pass 5M hours watched.

This year was a completely different story though with six streamers in the top 10 reaching more than 5M hours watched led by Jaryd “Summit1g” Lazar, who has pushed his way to the top with his Grand Theft Auto V role play streams.
Top Channels: Back at the Summit
Lazar is no stranger to being at the top of Twitch. In 2017, he was Twitch’s most-watched streamer, and when he’s played games that he enjoys, he’s typically been able to reel in viewers, showing just how powerful he is on the platform.
Earlier this year, he swayed numerous influencers toward playing Sea of Thieves after he racked up strong viewership totals by playing the game in December of 2018 into this year, and now he’s moved to a special GTA role play server that provides viewers a combination of drama and hilarious improvisation.

His ability to not only identify trends, but be largely responsible for starting them has put him back to the top of the ranks as Twitch’s biggest streamer, even beating out the likes of Blevins, Grzesiek, and Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp.
What’s Trending: Time to Diversify
February was dominated by influencers streaming Apex Legends, but March has been almost the opposite. While Grzesiek made most of his viewership playing Apex Legends, the top 10 streamers represented a diverse collection of titles ranging from League of Legends
In 2018, many influencers, including Lazar, felt that in order to maintain a significant presence on Twitch it was almost a requirement to play Fortnite. However that has clearly changed, and this diverse top 10 shows that viewers can be swayed to watch just about anything as long as the influencer playing the game is entertaining.
