This professional player wants to compete in 2 esports titles at the same time

Eric “Snip3down” Wrona is a 31-year-old American professional esports player that is currently signed under the FaZe clan organization. He is one of the most successful players in competitive Halo history. His career started way back in 2008 when he was playing for Ambush, one of the few professional Halo teams back then. In late 2008 he joined Str8 Rippin and he won his first big tournament, the MLG National Championship.

As the competitive scene evolved, so did he, transitioning from smaller teams to the likes of OpTic Gaming in 2014. He became a prominent face of the Halo esports scene. After his short run with OpTic, he played under the Evil Geniuses organization for 2 years, where he won multiple titles. In 2019 he decided to venture into Apex Legends, where he found mixed success, but overall, he had a good run.

But in 2022, he returned to the Halo franchise, where he is playing the Halo Championship Series, but Snip3down has more plans for his future. Eric said the following during one of his Apex livestreams: “The goal is to compete in both [Halo and Apex], and we’ll see what opportunities arise”. This made his fans from both games really excited as it’s going to be very possible for him to compete in both titles at the same time. Halo’s next HCS major begins in September, while the Apex’s ALGS season finishes in July. This would give Snip3down the perfect timing to perform in both games.

“I can do both, as long as the people I play with allow me to do both, I already play video games 10 hours a day… my Halo scrims would need to be early, and then I’ll just hop on and scrim Apex right after, and then just play both as much as I can. I truly think I’ve been competing long enough to where I can stay a top professional in both games” Snip3down added later on his stream. He also clarified that he will remain under the FaZe Clan organization.

It’s extremely rare to see a professional player compete in two different esports titles at the same time, and it’s for a good reason. Being able to maintain a level high enough to compete against the best is an almost impossible task. Most professional players spend more than 10 hours daily mastering just one title. It’s going to be really tough for Snip3down to keep up with the competition, but he feels very confident in himself. “It is what it is, man. It’s a fucking business decision, and it’s the right choice, for sure”
