So picture this, you’re streaming on Twitch, hanging out with your chat and doing your thing. But then you get hit with a 24-hour ban.
When you look into why, you realize it’s for something that literally happened a year ago.
This is exactly what happened to two Twitch streamers earlier this week.
And sure, it’s funny in a “this is ridiciulous” kind of way, but these type of retroactive actions are also really dangerous
Let us tell you why.

lurn's version of the song is fair use!
Take it to court and she will win.
Haha twitch lol
Copyright striking people who play your song, effectively making people avoid playing your song ever again? Holyshit what a fucking genius way to make it more popular
Comming from the guys that thinks a thumbs up is toxic. Great stuff.
Dlive > mixer > twitch
Found Lurn Tier 1 Sub
T W I T C H, let music go.
Don't @ Me Segments like, "Let me check my notes really quick. Ok done!"
Is ok, Twitch is going to condamn themselves and sooner people is going to switch to Mixer.
It's fun to stay at the DMCA
It's fun to stay at the DMCA
Its corporate cancel culture. It is funny.
Damn, Twitch just started learning from YouTube. We live in a Dystopian future.
I hope allinity gets fking banned already
love this host honestly
Just go all to ninjas streaming network and as soon as twitch loses viewers and streamers they will change their minds 😉
In Future streamers will get copyright strike because playing a game.
I think there needs to be a policy in when it comes to the DMCA for streaming and youtube that basically says a company has 3 months to file a claim and then after that, they can't strike it because they failed to defend their copyright
yea, thanks for bringing attention to this, but aren't you guys covering like…. the least awful abuse by twitch staff to date? like there's so many worse examples you could use than lurn getting a 24 hour ban for music, especially when girls usually get special privileges in terms of rule enforcement on twitch lol, like remember when tfue got banned because he said the word "coon", not even in an offensive way either, or when xqc got banned because he showed a fully censored dick in a YT vid on stream, but just the implication that it was there got him banned? While i saw a chick doing a topless body painting stream on the same website, and that's perfectly allowed lol? WE ALL KNOW twitch staff are a bunch of rule manipulating sjw no life virgins, there's just nothing that can be done about it since it's THE streaming website, if only there were alternatives where the site-runners weren't such bias, unfair idiots….. hmmm.
EVERYONE TO MIXER!
If you are using twitch you deserve to be banned. Proper game streamers are using mixer. Only twitchthots use twitch. And twitchthots deserved to be banned.
Twitch is telling its streamers to move to mixer
miXer is waving at you
i did a "you so fucking precious" video on my yt channel a while back and i think it was a year after that i got a copyright strike, wich i understand why but on twitch thats fucked up
Twitch is trash
Now this video is gonna get copystriked because you guys used someone's clip playing a game with someone who was playing that music and it's fucking crazy at this point
Its because they never sent any nudes or sucked dicks of at least one twitch staff
I'm all for shitting on twitch but what does this have to do with esports?
Wadu Hek Crying Seing Lurn Getting Banned From Twitch 🙁
streamers gets banned for playing music while Alinity is whoring herself out to thirsty children and creepy D.O.M.
nice Twitch, nice.
Random Music Labels : I'm bored of claiming Youtube videos (stares at Twitch)
kimi is hereeee
COPYRIGHTSTRIKE POKIMANE AT END OF VIDEO LMAO
I agree the twitch TOS on music needs to be hashed out more I play a lot of games with the game sound low so I can chat with my buddies and listen some music when I fire up a stream I keep the music playing because it helps fill the emptiness in the commentary I haven't learned or figured out how to fill yet. I also think record labels/recording studios need to relax a bit on their copy right strokes because they way I look at me or anyone playing a song is that is another potential fan who can in turn become a potential dollar sign for these companies, I have been exposed to a lot of different music through the streamers I watch and through the random youtube videos I watch but with everyone becoming more and .ore afraid to play music because 3 strike your out being the way most companies play and never knowing how far the line to toe is in regards to music on any platform it is difficult to justify anyone playing music, or listening to it where there is even a potential to have it broadcasted or in a video. If say you could only play music that is X years old or from record labels/recording studios XYZ it would make things easier to decipher and easier to control/police and understand when there might be a potential violation of the rules. I for one thing music 5 years or older should be free from copyright claims in regards to youtube and streaming content because 5 years allows the record label and the artist plenty or time to stack up radio and other various royalties. After 5 years most songs fade into the distance with the exception of a few hits that people can't get enough of, but after 5 years if people can play that music whenever or however either make a montage or just to have casually playing on stream or to even do a damn reaction video on should be fine and nothing should be considered copyright strike worthy… Maybe I am just dumb and missing part of the picture and if I am I would gladly like someone to fill me in
One thing i am sure it’s that music company is abusing the dmca and twitch have double standards for their streamer.
I wonder how much it would cost Amazon music to renegotiate with record labels to allow streamers some access to the music.
Maybe there could be an automated system where a “buy this track on Amazon button” would pop up.
Idk. Probably impossible.
Just Move to Mixer , And Start Using DuckDuckGo.I have Done it , Just Waiting for a Youtube Replacement.
the complaining at the end was unnecessary, i get some didn't know the rules and got banned but thats how taxes work for the poor.
Not Lurn
Do you think this may make streamers move to Microsoft's thing?
Under law she should be safe from a copy right strike because with the clip that was being played the other person was also singing it and furthermore singing a parody of the song making it safe under the fair use policy because the person was making the content there own by doing a cover or making a parody of the song. This is why Weird Al Yankovinck is not constantly being sued because of the fact that there is no laws being broken.
I usually end up agreeing at the end of these videos but this one, just didn't sit right with me. They DID do something wrong, they thought it would never catch up to them but oh well, it did because its always does.
The music industry really is an utter cancer on the internet. It has WAY too much reach for what little it really gives to anyone. And that's including the bullshit of re-licensing music tracks in videogames and having them patched out of games when they won't do it and stuff.
Every week I feel more and more that twitch is run by extreme left-wing cucks. Nothing wrong with left-wing. Just the people on Twitch are retarded
WH OMEGALUL?
Those hands can't calm the fk down lmaoo
nice and easy way of getting a streamer you dont like banned
Amazes me how people are still upset about that girl tossing her cat like two feet in the air
The gaming community has gotten so soft over the last 5 years or so
