The sale tickets for The International 2019 tickets will start later than Valve previously announced. The Developer of Dota 2 refused to partner with Damai.com. This was the first priority of Valve for a long time. Yet due to scammers, Valve is now taking its business somewhere else.
Valve has made a wise move to end its association with Damai.com. Since, in recent tournaments, almost all of the tickets were purchased by scammers. In 2017, when League of Legends took place in China, tickets were up for grabs on Damai.com. Yet, as soon as the sales started, the platform crashed. As soon as it went back online, all tickets were bought by bots.
The same scam took place before the start of The Chongqing Major. Five minutes after the start of ticket sales, ads popped up with the price of tickets. four times higher than the original. So it is a very wise move by the organizers to let go of Damai.com. Moreover, it is good to see Valve keeping an eye on the online scammers and discouraging their activities.
