The recent Dota 2 Updates haven’t been that interesting, but the same can’t be said about this one. Let’s learn more about Frostivus and other important things.
Christmas is just around the corner, so it’s no surprise that the Dota 2 team decided to surprise its fans. Unlike previous Dota 2 updates, in a blog post from December 14, Valve decided to tease fans with the release of Frostivus. As most of you probably know, this is one of the popular Dota 2 events that takes place around Christmas.
Frostivus in Dota 2
If we analyze everything said by Valve in the most recent update, we can see that the Frostivus event may arrive tomorrow. On top of that, we should also have access to a lot of new things, such as in-game items, but there will also be the removal of several items.
Considering the blog post is titled “The Dark Night Before Frostivus”, it was very interesting to read. A deep analysis reveals that Valve gave us hits about the potential things we can expect to see, and they were encrypted in the form of different “sacks”.
What’s interesting is that the first “sack” will contain something that we haven’t seen before. There were rumors on Reddit about what it could be, and some people think that we could see special items for some heroes. Considering Dota 2 used “Nemesis Curse, Moonlight Tiara, and Whisper of Dread, fans anticipate seeing items for the likes of Templar Assassin, Muerta, and even Luna. Of course, those are just rumors because some people think that Valve may even give us access to new immortals (something that was not available at The International 12) or even an Arcana.
If we keep reading the Dota 2 Updates, we can see that the second sack is about in-game changes. Since the text says that some gifts have been improved, whereas others have been deranged, we can expect a series of buffs and nerfs, something that happens after every update. The text also states items like Arcane Boost, Orb of Corrosion, and Bloodthorn, so we can expect to see changes to those things.
The last important thing that we may see in the next Dota 2 update is related to the removal of some items. If you read the text carefully, it says “The Gift I Take Back”, which a lot of people think refers to neutral items. You can also see the “I’m taking them all” line, indicating this might be the case.
The Dota 2 Neutral items became available some time ago, and they’ve changed the game. However, they’ve also made it a lot more complex, and since there have been complaints that the game is just too complicated, Valve may decide to take a step back and remove those things from the game.
Conclusion
One thing is certain – the Dota 2 Frostivus event will be special. It is worth remembering that the 2023 Frostivus will be the sixth iteration. The first one became available in 2012, and it has always been one of the fan-favorite events in the game. Make sure to follow us for more information about this event.
