Counter-Strike is one of the greatest FPS titles ever created in history. It has been around for over 20 years and has changed the way people perceive esports since its early competitive days. CS:GO was first released in 2012 and gained worldwide popularity much more than its predecessors, holding its head up high among the plethora of other titles in the genre.

The recent release of the closed beta of Valorant by Riot Games raised concerns about the future of the competitive shooter by Valve. Many feared that Valorant might just kill CS:GO with all the unique features the game brings to the table. In such a time of tension, some fans showed their love for the game releasing a CS:GO mod inside Dota 2, bringing a fresh perspective on the shooter.

Polystrike – This is what they decided to name the mod. The mod was actually announced pretty long ago but was released on April 10th. The game has classic elements of CS:GO incorporated into Dota 2, providing a fresh play style and a new take on shooter games. The HUD is almost exactly the same as CS:GO, bringing a nice feel to the game. The weapons are also the same as CS:GO, but the aiming mechanism is different for obvious reasons. The official YouTube video showcasing the release of the game displays some fierce gameplay in the classic Counter-Strike maps like de_dust 2, cs_office, fy_pool_day and de_inferno.

While the game is released and fully playable, it should be kept in mind that Polystrike is still in beta, so there’s a chance you might encounter occasional bugs during gameplay. Depending upon the popularity of this game, the devs are very likely to add more content to Polystrike in near future.
