Home Esports Tekken World Tour Season 5 2020 returns

The Tekken World Tour is back for its fifth year, with more than 75,000 people watching Yuta “Chikurin” win the World Tour Finals, following a successfully completed end to 2019.

Tekken 7 is one of the largest battle-games on the market with over 5 million copies sold all around the world and a massively successful and rising competitive circuit. So 30 tournaments will take place in 8 months so four levels this year, leading up to the Tekken World Tour Finals 2020 on the 12th of December in New Orleans.

The Dojo, Challenger and Master are the three different types of competitions. Dojo competitions are the starting level tournaments, where players who ascend the World Tour Leaderboard are always rewarded with points. Master Events will be higher than Dojo or Challenger Events and will give highly placed players more points.

Staples tournaments such as Combo Breaker, Evo, CEO and many others return to the World Tour for another year. On the official Tekken website, you can find a list of names, dates and locations where you can register.

Although the final figures for events such as Evo 2020 and the World Tour Finals have not yet been announced, the estimated 2020 prize pool has already reached $200,000. Yet we know the general scale of the payouts for all the competitions coordinated by the Bandai Namco and the Tekken teams.

Dojo–TBD depending on event size* Challenger–$1,000* Master $5,000 Evo 2020 is the only Master+ circuit tournament that means that it’s going to be far higher and is probably the world tour leader board’s biggest total weight.

The first stop in the Tekken World Tour 2020 and the first master-level tournament of the year kicks off with the Tokyo Tekken Masters Tournament on April 3rd, 2015.
