The past and present will clash in Team Heretics vs G2 Esports, as the old members of one team will have to face the new.
The 2024 LEC Winter Season is back today, with the 10 best teams diving into the fray once more. Last week was full of surprises, such as Karmine Corp not getting a win, SK Gaming bagging the 3-0, and G2 Esports suffering a defeat at the hands of Rogue. The Kings of Europe will try again in Week 2, and they will face the ghosts of their past on Sunday – Team Heretics.
Team Heretics vs G2 Esports Preview
Team Heretics
Team Heretics had one of the worst starts out of any team, rolling over for MAD Lions KOI last Saturday. Still, they managed to get back on their feet, closing out Week 1 with a 2-1 scoreline. They had a very clever draft against GIANTX, denying them the Gnar which Wunder played very well, while Perkz had the best game of his year so far on Akali. Flakked showed his prowess on Varus versus Rogue, so we can say that TH is good, they just had a rocky start.
Team Heretics Roster
- Martin “Wunder” Nordahl Hansen
- Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski
- Luka “Perkz” Perkovic
- Victor “Flakked” Lirola Tortosa
- Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser
G2 Esports
G2 Esports had every opportunity to end Week 1 with a 3-0 scoreline, but had a bit too much fun against Rogue. They showcased incredible macro play against Team BDS, who had them in the early stage of the match, but couldn’t do anything against them once teamfights rolled around. Karmine Corp put up a good fight with a solid early, but again, no one outmacros G2 Esports – so far.
The only one capable of defeating them is themselves (and Rogue). G2 Mad a plethora of mistakes against Larssen and co., who punished mispositions and terrible Teleports from mostly Caps, but the whole team fell flat. The creativity of G2 Esports is a great weapon, but sometimes they think too hard, or don’t think at all.
G2 Esports Roster
- Sergen “BrokenBlade” Celik
- Martin “Yike” Sundelin
- Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther
- Steven “Hans sama” Liv
- Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle
Team Heretics vs G2 Esports Predictions
While G2 Esports fumbled on Monday, they are the favoured team against Team Heretics. The Kings of Europe have some of the best laners in the LEC, and if they don’t get in the mistake-loop, they have better teamfighting as well. Team Heretics can rely on the early game objectives as Jankos has done a great job of securing those, as well as Flakked, who is a wild card. Only one thing is sure: Perkz vs Caps will be a battle for the ages!
