The series favorites kick off the final stage in the LEC Spring Split in their biggest match yet: Team BDS vs Team Vitality.
Two LEC contenders at the top of their game have risen above the rest to nab the first 2 spots at Spring Playoffs, and the stakes have never been higher. This is the highest tier of League play both teams have seen so far this season, especially Team BDS; a team that finished last in Winter’s Regular Season but got completely rejuvenated in Spring. Against them this time are the French bees, whose last appearance in the bo5 stage was in a battle of attrition against G2 last year. If you plan to bet on the LEC, this Team BDS vs. Team Vitality preview is for you.
Team BDS vs Team Vitality Preview
Team BDS
Arguably the strongest team in the ongoing split. With impressively fluid form, they took revenge against the likes of SK Gaming and “The Kings of Europe” G2 Esports in the Group stage, and they’ve only lost twice so far. The Switzerland-based roster has enjoyed a full rebirth in Spring 2023, and chances are good that the crazy playmaking and unpredictable turnarounds that have carried Crownie and co. this far will let them go the distance.
On top of their superior winrate, things are going very well game-wise. In their last brawl against SK Gaming, the talented merger of LFL and LEC veterans took the bo3 in dominant fashion, securing a 2-0 win.
Team BDS Roster
- Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis
- Juš “Crownie” Marušič
- Ilias “nuc” Bizriken
- Théo “Sheo” Borile
- Adam “Adam” Maanane
Player To Watch
There’s a reason why SK focused on Crownie every chance they got. The botlaner has been the deadly spearhead of BDS’ teamfights, and opts for flashy, but controlled plays to assert dominance in the midgame.
Team Vitality
A team lauded for their consistent performance in the LEC, Team Vitality knows how to stay in the game. Upset and co. earn their wins through sheer aggression, which forces their opponents to make rushed decisions. But despite being excellent in singling off weakened enemies and carry champs, they’re most vulnerable in the early game. Their first game against Astralis teetered on the knife’s edge because of how little Vitality’s damage output was, which led to bad trades in the laning phase.
Team Vitality Roster
- Elias “Upset” Lipp
- Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser
- Luka “Perkz” Perković
- Zhou “Bo” Yang-Bo
- Kyeong “Photon” Gyu-tae
Vitality’s mid/late game macro is nothing more than “see player kill player” which makes for an entertaining game, but I had hoped for a hint of evolution in their gameplay at this point. This playstyle gets eaten alive internationally #LEC

Perkz’ picks has been instrumental in VIT’s recent set-ups on the Rift.
Team BDS vs Team Vitality Predictions
Out of the top 5 teams from Winter Split’s Regular Stage, only Team Vitality and Team BDS haven’t fallen out of form. This says a lot about their adaptability, but Team BDS’ indomitable persistence has given them a streak that’s nearly impossible to beat right now. At this tier, a 3-1 victory for the Swiss team is very likely.
