Esports organization Pittsburgh Knights will continue its partnership with convenience store chain Sheetz through 2023. The extended deal will now name Sheetz as the team’s official convenience store and it will work with the Knights to host online tournaments and fan experiences, as well as continuing to see its logo placed on Knights’ jerseys.
Sheetz initially teamed up with the Knights in April 2019, and is one of the few regional chain stores affiliated with an esports organization. The closest analog is perhaps the Houston Outlaws partnership with Texas-based grocery store chain H-E-B. Unlike the Outlaws, however, the Knights do not represent Pittsburgh in any official capacity in a geolocated league. Instead, the organization has connected itself to its home city more through branding and affiliations, such as this deal with Sheetz and its investment from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
