  • Misfits Gaming’s Call of Duty League team is called Florida Mutineers.
  • The team branding includes a Kraken logo with a blue-green, black, and red color scheme.
  • Misfits Gaming Group now fields three franchise teams: Florida Mayhem in Overwatch League (OWL), Misfits in League of Legends European Championship (LEC), and Florida Mutineers in Call of Duty League (CDL).

Misfits Gaming Group (MGG) announced the team name and branding for its Florida Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise slot—the Florida Mutineers. The team features a Kraken logo and color scheme of blue-green, black, and red.

The team’s name and logo were inspired by pirates who frequented the waters around Florida during the 17th and 18th centuries, said MGG, as well as the legendary Kraken sea monster.

“It’s very exciting to be one of the first 12 teams in the new Call of Duty League and we’re here to make our mark and show the world what Florida has to offer,” said Tom “OGRE2” Ryan, general manager of the Florida Mutineers, in a statement. “This is just the beginning.”

The Florida Mutineers will compete in the 2020 inaugural season of the Activision Blizzard Call of Duty League and its roster will be announced in November. The new team will be based in Misfits Gaming headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida, along with Overwatch League (OWL) team Florida Mayhem.

As with Overactive Media, Misfits Gaming Group now fields three franchise esports teams. In addition to the newly added Mutineers, MGG has the Florida Mayhem in OWL and Misfits in League of Legends European Championship (LEC), the latter of which is based out of Berlin.

Editor’s Note: A correction was made to the headquarters of Misfit’s LEC team.
