The Comcast-owned Philadelphia Fusion in the Overwatch League are planning a new dual ticket option with the Flyers, in what the company believes is the first esports/major stick-and-ball team ticket package of its kind. Fusion Chief Business Officer Joe Marsh told THE DAILY today that full details are not ready to be released, but because of the dual ownership under Comcast, the sides have been working on putting together an unprecedented offer that will include tickets to both the Fusion’s esports events and the Flyers’ games.
Marsh attributed the idea to Fusion President Tucker Roberts, the son of Comcast CEO Brian Roberts, as Tucker Roberts “sees ownership of a big-four sport and esports as symbiotic … so he’s really been pushing to have that cross pollination with Comcast owning both teams.” The Fusion will host three homestand weekends next year, two at The Met Philadelphia in February and May, and one at the Adrian Phillips Theater at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City in June.
