by The News One

PGL has temporarily stopped the first CS2 Major ticket sales

In a recent announcement, PGL, the tournament operator for the inaugural CS2 Major, revealed the temporary suspension of ticket sales for the highly anticipated CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024. The tournament operator took to social media to share this update and express their heartfelt appreciation to the passionate Counter-Strike community. With the initial phase of ticket sales witnessing an incredible response, the initial batch of passes has now been sold out. The second batch of tickets will go on sale in September 2023.

The path to the highly anticipated Copenhagen Major starts with the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournaments. The European leg of the RMRs will kick off the journey, which will take place from February 14 to 24. Following the European leg, PGL has also announced RMR events for Asia, slated for February 26 to 29, and the Americas, scheduled for March 1 to 4. As the competition heats up, the best-performing teams from each region will earn the opportunity to qualify for the prestigious Danish Major, which will be played on Counter-Strike 2.

All eyes will be on Copenhagen in March 2024, when the Copenhagen Major 2024 finals will take place. From 17 to 31 March, the prestigious Royal Arena will be the battleground for the playoff matches, where teams will strive for supremacy in front of a roaring crowd of up to 16,000 enthusiastic spectators. Adding to the excitement, this prestigious event boasts a staggering prize pool of $1.25 million, making it one of the most lucrative tournaments in the CSGO competitive scene.

The BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, the final CSGO Major, witnessed the rise of Team Vitality, who emerged as the undisputed champions in an epic showdown against GamerLegion. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaud’s exceptional performance led the French powerhouse to a convincing 2-0 Grand Final victory in front of a raucous Accor Arena crowd. Alongside the prestigious title, Team Vitality took home half a million dollars in prize money and earned coveted trips to IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. Valve canceled the second Major of the year to allow teams to familiarize themselves with CS2, which is scheduled for a full release this summer.
