The Overwatch All-Stars Event is coming up soon and it got Malik thinking about the divisions as a whole. When do we actually hear about them and does anyone actually care? Probably not but we’ve got some ideas on how Blizzard can make them relevant and why they should.

They matter. They were the reason why Dallas played Vancouver and not london
Teams play their own division 2 times and outside their division 1 time.
If we get more events "that don't matter" like what you compared to the all star event, we're just going to get a repeat of the community showdown at the beginning of this year. Where teams don't even remotely try and only meme in order to not give away any serious strats.
I think one thing that detracts from your argument is how in the video you make it seem as if sport teams dont play teams from other divisions or conferences which they do. In the NFL the Dallas Cowboys (NFC) will play the Miami Dolphins(AFC) for their third game of the season. In the MLB the Texas Rangers(AL) will play the St. Louis Cardinals(NL) this Friday. For the overwatch league teams should play teams from other divisions, but play teams from their division more frequently which they do since a team plays each team in their division twice instead of once. This will probably change as more teams are added and cross division play is reduced. It only works right now since OWL only has 20 teams.
“divisions don’t matter” yes they do, teams in the same division play each other twice while teams in opposite divisions play each other only once. This affects strength of schedule so much, florida, washington, and houston are all in atlantic, those are basically free wins that teams in the pacific won’t be able to get bc they only play them once
do you think we will get locked 2-2-2 next stage
Ayy never been this early before 😀 great vid 🙂
