The Texas Rangers have caught fire at the right time. They entered the post-season having limped into a playoff seed. Furthermore, Texas had a losing record from the regular season when it came to their road games.
But with four straight wins, all of which have come on the road, the Rangers finally have a home game for their fans. If they can win in Arlington on Tuesday, then Texas will be into the ALCS with time to spare. After all, the other ALDS, between the Twins and Astros, will go at least four games as they are tied 1-1.
Starting pitching: Kremer vs Eovaldi
Baltimore has Dean Kremer available for this game. He went 13-5 in the regular season with a 4.12 ERA. Kremer has not seen action since September 28th, when he blanked the Boston Red Sox over 5.1 innings. Almost needless to say, his arm is going to be at full rest for this game.
Last month, he did not perform at his best. Kremer had three very good outings among his five starts, with two starts that were very forgettable. There has been some news discussed with Kremer in relation to the attacks overseas. ESPN headlined on Monday “Dean Kremer to take mound for O’s with family in Israel on mind” (October 9th, 2023). The pitcher is cited stating the matters are in the back of his head.
The Texas Rangers will send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound. He appeared in the Wild Card round where he allowed just one earned run against Tampa Bay on October 4th over 6.2 innings. But he did not have a good month in September. His ERA ballooned from 2.69 at the start of the month to 3.63 at the month’s end.

The Orioles at +120 is a good moneyline bet in this game (bet365). They went 52-29 on the road this season and tied for the most road wins in Major League Baseball. My recommendation is to back Baltimore to extend this series.
