North replace Cadian with JUGi; Valde steps up as team captain » TalkEsport

by Malav Popat

North, the Danish team have announced that they have signed Jakob “JUGi” Hansen who will be taking over the big green from Cadian.

With Cadian leaving, 8 months since he joined the team, North were crowned championships at GG.BET Ice Challenge trophy. The team made damage at tournaments with deep playoff runs but none were converted to silverware.

Jugi is no alien to this setup. Previously, he has played with valde and gade during his times on Heroic and Optic.

Valde has also taken over the role of the IGL from Cadian.

In his own statement regarding becoming the team captain, valde said:

“I feel that the time has come for me to take on extra responsibilities within the team. Becoming an in-game leader and team captain is not a decision you make overnight. It’s something I’ve thought about many, many times during my career and I knew within myself that the day where I would make that transition was gonna come at one point but I certainly didn’t see it coming this early.

I cannot promise you miracle-results overnight and there will definitely be bumps along the road, but what I can promise you is someone who’s willing to sacrifice what it takes to bring his team to the top. I really believe that my vision and leadership will take us there. I hope you guys will follow me on this journey. It would mean a lot to me.”

North now consist of:

  • Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså
  • Philip “aizy” Aistrup
  • Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye
  • Nicklas “gade” Gade
  • Jakob “JUGi” Hansen
