The most popular twitch streamer, Ninja, has made a big announcement. He says that he will not play solo rounds in Fortnite until Epic introduces some changes to the solo queues.
Why is Ninja boycotting Fortnite?
Thanks to Fortnite, Ninja has become the most popular streamers as he earned around $500,000 every month. But, now Ninja has had enough of the Battle Royale shooter.
After losing a few games and sitting in the queue for a long time in the new arena mode, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins was fed up. The latest patch 8.20 has changed so much in his eyes that he does not want to play anymore. He now devotes himself to other games until Epic has fixed the queues.
That’s what Ninja says about the current Fortnite
Ninja says: In his stream, Ninja suddenly stopped playing Fortnite and said that he will now play something else. He will continue his boycott until Epic fixes the queue. He also highlighted that he will come back to the game only if he is able to play Arena Duos or Arena Solos with 7.40 updates.

What has been changed? With the patch 8.20, Fortnite again changed the rules of the game. Aggressive play is not rewarded so much as it did in 7.40, as there is now:
- no health regen after eliminating an opponent
- The enemy no longer automatically drops building materials when eliminated
- The reuse of materials is now 40% less profitable
Alternatively, you can still play the arena mode with the old rules, but there you have to wait a long time to start a match. That’s too long for Ninja. He declines the idea of creating a “new account” to quickly find arena matches as a “low” rated player.
All these small decisions of Epic have finally caused the streamer to burst out. Who has decided for the moment to abandon the game as can be seen from the ” ragequit “. Ninja has in fact recently started posting a video by Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, concentrating his efforts elsewhere. Not only the professionals, but even casual players are annoyed by the change.

Ninja was previously considered someone who was more neutral to the patch. He explained that he understood why Epic took this step. Now it is even more surprising that the most successful streamer also first throws in the towel at Fortnite. It remains to be seen how long that will take.
Recently on Twitter, the developer has addressed the complaints and say the will fix the queues. So this acceptance by Epic could be enough to bring Ninja back.
In the meantime, Thursday 4th April is an important day for Fortnite players, who will finally be able to access the new Challenges of Week 6 of Season 8. New skins and cosmetic items will debut in the store to customize the in-game character.
