On Wednesday the Nevada Gaming Control Board released an approval note enabling DreamHack Masters Spring bets.
The exemption would allow licenced sportsbooks and esports betting sites alike of the state to post and accept bets in three different wager styles on DreamHack Masters for the 2020 edition: head-to-head, game player and a complete winner.
Counter-Strike: The first match of the global offensive event on 19 May will be CSGO, the fourth event that will take place in the last two months in the Gaming Control Board. DreamHack Masters Spring will be part of the sports offerings of the ESL Pro League, the ESL Meisterschaft and the ESL Rio Cup.
Nevada licensees will accept wagers with immediate effect for DreamHack Masters Spring provided that they comply with the Control Committee regulatory directives. Registered tournament rules must be made available to the public via the event organiser, or the website of the sanctioning body before the wager is approved. In order to put bets on Dream Hack Masters Spring Nevada bookmakers must first inform the Compliance Division.
That betting option in play shall be off-table, according to the regulatory requirements of the Control Board; the declaration of tournament wagers shall cease before each match begins. The sporting book must agree whether the rules and results control the wagers must be based on an acceptable source and must be made accessible to the public. The results of this process are acceptably accessible.
Licensed sportsbooks will be allowed to make bets that deviate from three licenced forms of wager, but a separate application and approval will be required to enforce them. The approval is one of many that has been issued over the past few months from the offices of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
In addition to Dota 2, iRacing, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Call of Duty betting exemptions have been added for CS: GO. Such products include tournament series and team competitions like the Overwatch League and the Call of Duty Tournament, which will include a broader variety of sportsbook products.
