Ladislav ‘GuardiaN’ Kovacs returns to Natus Vincere from Faze Clan to complete their roster, replacing the now-retired Danylo ‘Zeus’ Teslenko.
GuardiaN was an ever-present figure for Natus Vincere for nearly four years and was once regarded as one of the best players in the Counter-Strike world. The Slovakian nearly won the Major twice with Natus Vincere, only to fall short of EnvyUs and Luminosity in the finals of Dreamhack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015 and MLG Columbus 2016 respectively.
His stay at Faze Clan saw him come close to realizing the dream of bagging a Major, only to lose to Cloud9 in Overtime in unceremonious and heart-breaking fashion at the Boston Major.
2019 though, has not panned out well for GuardiaN, who has recorded his lowest HLTV rating to date, averaging merely 1.02 through the year so far, which is a huge drop from 2018, his previous lowest annual rating which stood at 1.09.
Faze Clan themselves have struggled to fill out their roster over the year and changes are reportedly in the offing for the North American organization as well.
GuardiaN is not the only change in Na’Vi, with Andrey ‘B1ad3’ Gorodenskiy moving to the Coach role to fill the void left by Kane. It will be interesting to see how the GuardiaN-s1mple dynamic works again.
For Na’Vi fans, this is exciting news though, as it will see the return of their once-favorite player along with the prospect of seeing a more fluid, more hybrid and more importantly, the old s1mple.
