The tennis event in Stockholm on the men’s tour this week has produced an all-French quarterfinal. Gael Monfils will face Adrian Mannarino at ATP Stockholm 2023 in what promises to be a competitive quarterfinal match in the tournament. My Monfils vs Mannarino prediction is that the latter will win this match to advance to the semifinals.

Gael Monfils vs Adrian Mannarino Head-to-Head Series
The Stockholm event, which is also known as the BNP Paribas Nordic Open, is on the 250 level on the ATP Tour. There are not a ton of ranking points offered in such events. However, the title still counts as an official tour-level title in career stats. That’s different than the challenger events.
Adrian Mannarino remains the highest seed left in the tournament. Holger Rune went out in his opening match. Mannarino carries a 2-4 record against Monfils into their quarterfinal. The two veterans have not faced one another since 2021. Monfils has won their only two matches that have been played on the hard court surface.
In the present draw, Mannarino has played just one match. He defeated Roman Safiullin, a tough player to knock out of these smaller events. Meanwhile, Monfils has won two matches with just one dropped set.
Prior to this event, Mannarino was playing well. He claimed a title not long ago on tour, winning a small event in Astana. We have not heard that much from Monfils lately. He was in the Laver Cup about a month ago, where he had an embarrassing match against Felix Auger-Aliassime. Not only did Monfils lose but it looked like he did not care much about the result, spending just seconds between serves and going all out very early in every point for a stretch of time. Bettors will have to assume that his head is in a better place right now given that he has survived two rounds in Stockholm.

Monfils vs Mannarino Prediction: Mannarino wins
These two players are priced at -110 on the moneyline (bet365). My recommendation is going to be to take Mannarino. I think if he was suffering any effects of fatigue from his schedule over the last few weeks, Roman Safiullin would have eliminated him in the last round. Despite the 2-4 record against Monfils, take Mannarino as he has been impressive lately, at least in these smaller events.
