The 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit has been quite disappointing for the SEA team, Mineski. Yet they managed to sneak their way to the main event of the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor season 2. The Southeast Asian squad made some interesting play and picks during their run in the qualifiers.
This season the side produced not the most impressive results except for their triumph in the ESL One Mumbai. The competition was not included in the DPC so it didn’t helped in their TI9 ambitions. The team replicated in the form in the Minor qualifiers. They were completely unbeaten taking down the likes of MYSG+AU and BOOM ID. Yet the things that caught the attention of Dota community was their choice of heroes.

Riki and Techies pick
In the final phases of the qualifiers the make interesting choices when drafting their heroes. The team chose to pick Riki. It caught their opponent by surprise and they were unable to counter Mineski in the early game. Their solid performance got them an easy win and they were just one pick away from qualification.
Now things got more confusing for their opponents in the grand finals. Mineski decided to wreak havoc on the map by picking up position 5 Goblin Techies. The hero didn’t had much of an impact in the game yet the side picked it in both games of the series. It did enough to secure Mineski a slot in the Minor.
These two picked have exhibited that Mineski is prepared to some interesting choices in their upcoming tournament. We believe that this unpredictable strategy of the team could play a vital role in their The International 2019. If the team want to qualify by DPC points, they they would need to at least qualify grand finale for the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor. Then hope for the best result in the EPICENTER Major. Yet if the team had to go through TI9 qualifiers then Riki and Techies pick could prove to be a strong factor.
