MET Events to Host Final PUBG Classic in Bangkok

  • Southeast Asian esports organizer MET Events will host the last PUBG Classic event of the 2019 season, in Bangkok, Thailand.
  • Taking place in July, the MET Asia Series will feature a $300K USD prize pool and teams only from the Asia region.
  • The winning region will be award an extra slot in the upcoming $2M PUBG Global Championship.

Sponsors and media partners for the MET Asia Series have not yet been announced. Participating regions will regroup the best teams from their professional leagues, with the exception of Southeast Asia, which currently runs a dedicated tournament circuit system—the final qualification format has not yet been confirmed.

The event will be taking place around the same time as the GLL Grand Slam, another PUBG Classic event with teams from Europe, Latin America, North America, and Oceania. The winning teams from both events will earn their respective regions an additional slot in the 2019 PUBG Global Championship, a $2M prize pool tournament at the end of the year.

Based in the Philippines, MET Events is part of Mineski Corporation. Competitions run by the company have included the Mobile Legends Professional League, Dota 2 Database-Link-e1521645463907
