Midnite, a London-based esports betting startup, has raised just over $2.5M USD in funding in an investment round led by gaming-focused venture firm Makers Fund This newest round of funding brings the company’s total to approximately $4.5M.
Founded in 2016, Midnite’s previous investors include London VC firm Venrex Investment Management, and unnamed “founders and executives” from gaming companies including Betfair and GVC.
As it stands, the Midnite platform is operating in an invite-only beta period and has already procured a betting license in the United Kingdom. Midnite plans to add additional licenses in other regions at a later time where betting is permitted by law at a time to be determined.
