LEC Week One Recaps – Day One, Two, Three

SK Gaming V Astralis

LEC Week 2 Summer Split 2022

SK struggled in the Super Week, picking up just the one win. Meanwhile, AST is already looking good in Summer Split as they look to get a third win. First blood over to AST after 8-minutes as they get an early lead. Thanks to a mistake for Vizicacsi making a mistake, SK found a way back into the game instantly. By the 15-minute mark, however, AST had moved ahead in gold and secured their second Drake of the game. AST went from strength to strength as the third Drake spawned on the map it was easily claimed by them. AST followed that up with a Baron claim as they moved to 6k ahead. With Baron, and four Drakes secured, AST took down the bot lane inhibitor as it looked like game over for SK. AST set up a perfect bait and it was game over. AST secured a pre-30-minute win.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: SK – AST
  • Time: 29:24
  • Kills: 8-16
  • Turrets: 2-7
  • Gold: 49.8k – 59.9k
  • Dragons: 0-4
  • Barons: 0-1

Excel v Team Vitality

Xl v VIT 1

This game was delayed over an hour due to a pause at around the 25th minute. This wasn’t able to be fixed, and thus the draft we reset.

First blood to XL, who turned that into a double kill. VIT did secure a kill in return but it was XL who took an early lead. After likely feeling hard done with the remaking of the game, XL will be glad that they also won the early game in the remake. By the 16-minute mark, they had a 2k lead over VIT. However, VIT did manage to get a series of kills moments later but it cost them 3 towers in return, meaning XL maintained its lead. After a momentary blip, XL quickly struck back as the fourth Drake spawned, acing VIT as they looked to push for Baron. Sadly for XL, they failed to secure Baron and at the next opportunity, it was VIT who managed to take it off the Rift. With the Elder Drake up, the game looked set to end in a 50/50 fight for the Drake. VIT secured early pit pressure, with XL looking for a way in. XL made an attempt to steal it but VIT secured the buff, losing two members in return. Perkz looks to make a game-winning play but he fluffs his lines, exposing his team as XL strike back. It took two hours to get there but XL did manage to get the win.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: XL – VIT
  • Time: 35:26
  • Kills: 15-13
  • Turrets: 9-4
  • Gold: 65.1k – 64k
  • Dragons: 4-1
  • Barons: 0-1

Misfits Gaming v Rogue

MIS RGE

Misfits need a win here, with a 0-3 record thus far. As for RGE, they had a tricky Super Week and will be desperate to get a second win. It took 11-minutes to get the first blood, but it did go to RGE who moved to 1k ahead. A much better game thus far for RGE, who quickly forged ahead to a 3k lead as they played the map better than MSF. It’s a dominant mid-game for RGE, picking up a 7k lead before the 20-minute mark. RGE set up a trade ahead of Baron and MSF took the bait. RGE stopped short of claiming Baron, as members of MSF looked to stop them. Next up is a Drake steal for RGE as MSF looked out of ideas. RGE then moved towards the un-warded Baron, before securing their Soul Drake. RGE broke the MSF base before Baron wore off, as they prepared for the next Baron to spawn before ending the game.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: MSF – RGE
  • Time: 36:22
  • Kills: 7-21
  • Turrets: 2-11
  • Gold: 60.6k – 72.5k
  • Dragons: 1-4
  • Barons:0-1

G2 Esports v Team BDS

G2 BDS

The 3-0 v the 0-3, could BDS pull off a huge upset? Well, they certainly started off perfectly, claiming first blood in the mid-lane. BDS maintain an early lead, moving to 2k ahead by 10-minutes as they shock G2 early. In typical caPs fashion, after a top-lane fight looks against him, he’s able to outplay BDS as G2 secured 3 kills. The gold had evened up by the 18-minute mark, with the map state slowing down prior to Baron. More fights in the mid-lane and it’s more kills trading over. G2 got the early lead but BDS were able to trade it back. Somehow, BDS were able to win a huge fight at the Soul Drake, acing G2 and claiming the Baron. The next step for BDS, find a way to end the game and stop G2’s win streak. BDS broke into the G2 base, they desperately tried to defend but BDS did it with a new wave of minions arriving into the G2 base. A huge win for BDS, ending their winless run by ending the winning run of G2.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: G2 – BDS
  • Time: 35:06
  • Kills: 14-19
  • Turrets: 3-8
  • Gold: 59.9k – 66.3k
  • Dragons: 1-4
  • Barons: 0-1

Fnatic v MAD Lions

LEC Week 2 Spring 2022

Two sides that are 2-1 going into the series, as the final day of the LEC day 1 finally got started at 00:30 local time. First blood was secured in the mid-lane by FNC as they got off the early start. FNC’s early lead was chipped away by MAD, as they picked up kills and map pressure across the Rift. MAD started to press their lead by the 14-minute mark, securing a 4-kill advantage alongside a 1.5k gold lead. MAD remained in the lead, though they only extended it to 3k with FNC very much still in the game. The next big play was once again a MAD play as they snuck a Baron away from FNC. The best FNC could do was secure one kill but MAD had moved into a strong lead. With Baron, MAD forced their way into the FNC base, knocking down the Nexus turrets as they looked to force an end. With members of FNC respawning, MAD just about had enough to take down the Nexus and secure the win.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: FNC – MAD
  • Time: 30:35
  • Kills: 4-11
  • Turrets: 3-7
  • Gold: 48.5k – 56.5k-
  • Dragons: 2-2
  • Barons: 0-1
